G’day there, I’m Tony

I’ve had a long and storied career, starting in the rag trade when I was fresh out of high school. If it’s made of fabric, I’ve probably tried my hand at making it. From elabourate wedding dresses and tailored suits to curtains and couch cushions, I’ve never found a project too big or too small and I worked for many years on bespoke orders and tailoring jobs for clients in the lower North Island. I later went on to purchase Fielding Fashions in the early 90s, courting household brands like Country Road to provide high quality, locally made garments for the luxury market.

Unfortunately, shifting market conditions meant we eventually had to shut up shop as we simply couldn’t compete with the influx of cheap internationally produced clothing. I took the opportunity to retain in Electrical Engineering where I have been working for the last 20 years, my tailoring skills shifting to the realm of odd jobs and alterations for friends and family.

Now as I approach retirement in sunny Kapiti, I find myself with the time and inclination to dust off the sewing machine and offer my services to the wider community. I’m accepting enquiries for jobs big and small in the Wellington region - take a look at my services page for more about what I can help you with.

If you’re looking for professional, quality tailoring or upholstery services at a fair price then drop me a line and we’ll get you looking your best in no time!
